How To Keep Your Resolutions and Reach Your Goals – Goal-Setting
How To Keep Your Resolutions and Reach Your Goals
Another year has flown by and here you are at the beginning of another year. This is a time when many people assess their life and make "new year resolutions" or set goals for the New Year. Sometimes they are the exact same resolutions as last year!! Did you make some of these?I will:* Lose weight, get into shape, and exercise more
* Spend more time with my family
* Stress less & relax more
* Get more sleep
* Save money
* Change jobs
* Be happyIf any of these resolutions sound familiar this is because these are some of the most popular resolutions made each year according to "How To Keep Your New Years Resolution.com"The Oxford Dictionary definition of resolution is to decide firmly or have great determination, but most people are lucky if their resolution is kept until the end of their holidays. It's no wonder many people find themselves making the exact same resolutions the next year. So how can you be successful in sticking to a resolution or successfully achieve any goal?FIRSTLY...work on one thing at a time. Goals or resolutions involve change and sometimes it's easier to give up and sink back into our old life patterns than stick to change. So only do one thing at a time or you may be tempted to give up!SECONDLY...PLAN..PLAN..PLAN..you've heard the saying "People who fail to plan, plan to fail." Think about your goal. WRITE IT DOWN!!!! Put it where you will see it everyday. Set a start date. Develop a strategy. Write a list of points to help you reach your goal-break it down into manageable pieces and tackle it one piece at a time.THIRDLY...Prepare for those obstacles that you know will come up. You know what I mean-if you have decided to lose 10kg you know someone will bring a chocolate cake to work on the first day of your diet. So think about what obstacles will come up and a plan to tackle each one. If you slip up-don't let this make you totally give up. See it as one step back among all the steps you have taken and will take forward!!!!
Remember to reward yourself for every step forward you do take-this will keep you in action and motivated.LASTLY......GET SUPPORT...this is a must. It's much easier to stay in action if you feel supported and also accountable to someone. You could buddy up with a friend or relative (as long as you are definitely sure they will support you). Or for unbiased support chose a Personal Life Coach to keep you motivated and in action.Lisa Branigan specialises in coaching women who are stressed, tired and overwhelmed with their busy lives. Content, Are We? – Martial-Arts
Content, Are We?
I asked a simple question at the last seminar:"How much has everyone improved in the year since we last got together?"I've practiced the same basics everyday for decades.Everyday Rain or shine. Summer, winter, spring and fall. Over and over and over.............................................And I'm never satisfied. I'm not fast enough, I don't hit hard enough, my basic "technique" is NOT at all satisfactory.I don't train a lot of "techniques". But, I train those "techniques" a lot.Basic fundamental stuff. That's all I can handle.Over and over and over and over and over................................Know why?Because I'm NEVER satisfied. I'm not fast enough, I don't hit hard enough, my basic "technique" is NOT at all satisfactory.Nope! I'm NEVER happy.It might be nice to "do" more advanced, complex, and exotic stuff.But personally I can't justify it. I see far too much room for improvement in just the most basic fundamental stuff.Because I'm never satisfied. I'm not fast enough, I don't hit hard enough, my basic "technique" is NOT at all satisfactory.I guess the problem is that I don't have a clue as to when these basics become "good" enough. Seems to me I could spend the rest of my life constantly working at improving just a handful of solid basics and still NEVER be satisfied. Never be fast enough, never hit hard enough.Damn. Consigned to an existence of fundamental basics. Well, I guess I'm just one of the unlucky few.Copyright 2003 http://www.thetruthaboutselfdefense.com
The Magic Of Email – Email-Marketing
The Magic Of Email
These days email is taken for granted and used perhaps
without fully appreciating its power.For example, recently I had some concerns about whether
or not my newsletter was being properly delivered through
the automated service that I use.I decided to send a note to my subscribers and ask them
to simply reply to let me know that they received my
message which was sent through the same automated system.Very soon I began to receive hundreds of replies from all
over the world to let me know my message was getting
through. I replied to each one personally to express my
gratitude for their reply and for my appreciation of the
ease of communication through the World Wide Web.The messages I received were not limited to simple replies
to let me know that my newsletter was being received. I
began to receive the most wonderful testimonials of
gratitude!Subscribers wrote to tell me that my newsletter makes a
difference in their lives - and that they forward it to
friends they care about.I began several profound email exchanges with subscribers
who told me that something they read in my newsletter
had been a turning point for them after years of not
knowing that they could live life differently.Imagine how I felt to learn that one simple thing I
shared could make such a difference in someone's life!I was overjoyed!Email is a powerful tool and it can be used to do good
in the world. The next time you send an email, know
that you could just be putting a smile on someone's face
or communicating with someone who needs to to be touched
by something that you say.Just think! If I had not sent that one little email, I
may never have known I was making a difference in a big
way!May your email make a difference in someone's life today!Copyright 2005 Linda Miller is a Spiritual Entrepreneur
