Plays Well With Others to Become an Instant Author – Book-Marketing

Plays Well With Others to Become an Instant Author

You wrote a tips booklet. Maybe more than one. Oh wait, are you one of the people who is still thinking about doing one? Not to worry. Wait 'til you see how easy this gets. What would you and your colleagues think of jointly creating a tips booklet? Each of you contributes several tips, has someone else oversee all of the production, and gives you ideas for marketing it. Each colleague shares in the costs, making the entire thing not only palatable price-wise but an exciting prospect and even fun to do instead of some kind of drudgery. It's very possible this is a solution that just had not yet come to mind. I can almost see you sitting there saying "yes, that's perfect."Collaboration is far from being a new thing. Book anthologies are done all the time. Cookbooks have been created just this way for years and years, with each person in a particular group contributing their favorite recipe. The hugely successful "Chicken Soup" series is probably one of the best known anthologies of recent times. It's just taken awhile to realize that the same thing can be done with tips booklets, and done within any self-contained, self- formed group rather than only a publisher of an anthology gathering unrelated people together to create the book.Look around you. You probably have colleagues, a circle of professional friends, people you utilize as a sounding board, as a mastermind, as a respite from your daily process. And you each like doing the work you've prepared yourself to do, whether it's being a business coach, a hypnotist, a retailer, an artist, a realtor, or endless other possibilities. Yet you also love the idea of being a published author, seeing your name in print, someday, when you get around to it, when the stars and planets are aligned just perfectly. Or the idea of expanding an existing product line appeals to you, and a booklet seems to be the ideal answer for that.Several years ago, a group of veteran professional organizers wanted to create a revenue stream for themselves so they did not have to tap the general budget of the umbrella association to which they belonged. About 100 organizers (104, to be exact) each contributed several tips. We then selected one tip from each person and created a booklet for the group. To date, the booklet has brought in over twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000!) of direct revenue for that group of veteran organizers, without really marketing it.The great thing about that booklet is that it serves as both a revenue stream for the group plus it markets the business of each contributor in the booklet as well as the entire industry of professional organizing. You'll find the individual person's name, business name, and city of each contributor right under their tip. Every organizer whose tip is in that booklet instantly became a published author. But wait, there's more. Each and every booklet that a co-author distributes markets every other co-author in the booklet. Plus (and this is just so terrific) the booklet is of great interest to reporters and journalists in the media who love to interview more than one person for any article they write. It's a ready-made mechanism for getting lots and lots of publicity.I recently started a conversation with a representative from a group of about 15 health care professionals in related areas of expertise, exploring the idea of the group jointly co-authoring a booklet. Each person in the group contributes a handful of tips, shares in the production costs (bringing that way down), and becomes a published author. This takes much less time, m0ney, and brain damage than if any one of these people wrote a complete booklet themselves. That's not to say they won't ever do one on their own. It just means they will get one done probably sooner through the collaboration of this tips booklet anthology, and they will expand their reach every time any other co-author distributes this booklet.Has your mind started racing about who to approach to do a booklet with you? You don't have to be best pals with a colleague or love everyone in your mastermind group or agree with every pearl that comes out of every coach in your Special Interest Group, or think that each person at the recent chamber of commerce meeting was the most brilliant person you ever met. You don't even need to live anywhere near each other in order to put together a collaborative booklet. All you need is to find a group of people interested in contributing some tips in a somewhat related field. Depending on the size of the group, it may be one or two tips each, or 10-12 tips. In either case, it's a minor amount of time, effort, and m0ney to instantly become a published author.

Tai-Chi for the Masses–and Others – Martial-Arts

Tai-Chi for the Masses--and Others

Kuang Ping was the T'ai-chi set favored by Yang Lu-Chan, the man who brought forward the "Yang" style in the mid-1800's, now so popular throughout the world. Kuang Ping is what the man trained with himself. The popular "Yang" set was/is something for the masses--not for the aficinado, the athlete, the martial artist.I learned Kuang Ping from Kuo Lien Ying (that's him above, taken in the late 1960's), third generation student of Yang Lu Chan. I was already an accomplished runner and martial artist when I started training (1970), so it was difficult to please me in the arena of athletics--but 75 yr-old Kuo was definitely impressive! Eventually I studied five T'ai-chi sets, but his was/is definitely the most dynamic and challenging.I teach two sets currently: a short Yang style (for beginners and the unfit) and Kuang Ping. They are both available on tape.T'AI-CHI CH'UAN: A Few WordsThis soft or "internal" art is, in all aspects, a psycho-physical exercise, a boxing system, and a meditation method. Most of the tens of millions of practitioners are into it for health and meditation, so they move very slowly during the training. But what most people don't realize is that since the art is founded on using the principles of change, you can-and should-move the body and mind according to the need of the moment. This wondrous exercise can be used by anyone, male and female, old and young. A five year-old child and a person of 90 years or more are both able to practice T'ai-chi Ch'uan. The complete form can be learned within three months; pretty good acquaintance can be obtained with a year's practice; and a student training perseveringly for about five years can have significant integration of mind and body, intuition and knowledge. There are delicate details of T'ai-chi, keys to its marvels which are understood only with faithful practice. Traditionally, a person is required to train seven years before qualifying as a teacher.Of the more than 100 million people who practice T'ai-chi regularly, most train outdoors, even in severe weather conditions of northern China. The reason is simple and can be understood only when you accept the elements and embrace the opportunity to integrate with nature. Year-round, outdoor training is good for the spirit, heart, mind and body.Instructor Certification:T'ai-chi Ch'uanFirst ? Third years: White Sash

Why Do Some Affirmations *Work* – and Others Dont? – Positive-Attitude

Why Do Some Affirmations *Work* - and Others Dont?

By definition,an affirmation is a statement repeated time and
again either verbally or mentally-or written down. The words
of the affirmation statement - in themselves -when spoken,
thought of, or written *without* a pictorial (visualized) or
emotional connection- make a very weak affirmation.Affirmations, when worded correctly -- and when emotionally
charged - are able to tap into the unlimited creative power of
your subconscious mind, and manifest your desires.Affirmations are not all created equal. Some are, of course,
better than others.
When you examine the structure of these power affirmations, you,
too, can learn how to create your own powerful affirmations for
your specific purposes.Consider these:
"I am what I choose to be."
"All my needs are met instantaneously."
"I love and accept myself exactly as I am."
"_____________ comes to me easily and effortlessly."
(Fill in the blank with what you desire.)
"I am now perfectly healthy in body, mind and spirit."
"I now create my wonderful, ideal life."
What do the above power affirmations have in common?1) They're stated in the present tense. An affirmation is more effective when stated in the present
tense. For example;"I now have a wonderful job." Avoid affirming
something in the future tense, e.g."I am going to have a
wonderful job" or the results will always be waiting to happen.2) They express a positive statement.Affirmations need to be stated in the most positive terms
possible. Avoid negative statements. Affirm what you do want,
rather than what you don't want. For example:"I am no longer
sick." This is a negative statement. Instead, affirm: :"I am now
perfectly healthy in body, mind and spirit." This statement is
much more powerful as it is positive and reinforces your desired
goal and doesn't confuse your subconscious mind with the mention
of the undesirable condition.3) They're short and specific.
Short affirmations have a far greater impact
at the subconscious level than those which are long and wordy.
Keeping them specific and to the point adds power as the idea is
uncluttered by extraneous elements. The mechanics that make affirmations powerful are:* Repetition
The importance of repetition cannot be overemphasized. It
imprints the affirmation into your subconscious mind.*Emotions
Get involved, be passionate, and use your emotions. Think
carefully about the meaning of the words as you repeat them
rather than just writing, typing or saying them.*Persistence
Practicing affirmations with persistence achieves results much
sooner than practicing them periodically.Successive sessions
will have a compounding effect.*Belief
You don't necessarily have to believe your affirmation initially,
in order for it to work. Belief will grow with your forthcoming
successes. What you do need is the ability to *feel* what it
would be like when the desire you're affirming is fulfilled, or
your need met. Every time that you have a need -and that need
is met -a certain "feeling" is produced in you.
Simply evoke that same feeling when you state your affirmation.
That is, you need to feel with every fiber of your being that what you desire has already happened. Without this feeling, your
affirmation is powerless.*Impress Yourself
Personalize your affirmations. They must *resonate* with you feel right for you. The stronger your connection with the
affirmation, the deeper the impression it makes on your mind and
the sooner you will experience positive results. So there you have it - the simple formula for creating
affirmations that work. Based on the above, you can easily
create your own affirmations to manifest any desire or need you
have in life.TIP: Although the practice of affirmations is easy, some people
find it challenging to repeat the affirmations continuously while
maintaining the highly charged emotional state necessary in
making affirmations work. GOOD NEWS!You can now use your
computer to make the affirmation process effortless-and
you can automate those challenging aspects (such as maintaining
highly charged emotions),thereby manifesting your desires more
quickly!Go to http://datingadvisor.psend.com/affirmations.html
