The Power of a Positive Attitude – Positive-Attitude
The Power of a Positive Attitude
You wake up in the morning sleepy and fatigued; the day has to start but you do not want it to. You stumble around; stub your toe on the dresser and step on the dog. What do you do, get mad and waste the day with anger or get excited because you woke up this morning and the day is going to be awesome.Unfortunately, most of us fill our day with negativity from the moment we get out of bed. Then we wonder why our day is not the best it can be. Attitude affects every aspect of your life- even your on-line business- so why not have a great attitude. The good news is you control your attitude, not me not circumstances, and you do. Every time you get excited about your day, you made the choice to be excited. When you walk through your day with negativity it was a choice you made.Make The Right ChoiceMaking the choice to stay positive is an easy task but it takes commitment and will not happen over night. It is learning to find the positive in every situation and retraining your sub conscious mind to think in the positive instead of the negative. Unfortunately, we are bread to think negatively from the time we can walk but we can retrain ourselves to be the positive motivator that takes charge and wins in life.Read on to learn the techniques I use to maintain a positive attitude.Make A Goal To ChangePeople often ask me why I am so happy all the time and I tell them because I made a goal to control my attitude. Setting a goal to make a commitment to change your attitude is the foundation that must be laid. If you need help on how to set a goal, you can read my article on goal setting at: www.Dreams2freedom.Com/myarticles1.html.AffirmationsAffirmations are the key to maintaining a positive attitude. An affirmation is a positive statement said in the present tense with conviction. For example, I am a money magnet, money flows to me easily and effortlessly or I am an extremely positive person at all times. I made a list of seven affirmations that I say twice a day every day and I recommend you do the same. I say my affirmations every morning in the shower and at night before I go to bed and when ever i fill negative about something, this way they will be imbedded in my sub-consciousness through out the day.Fight A Negitive With A PositiveEvery time you find yourself thinking negatively, turn it in to a positive thought and repeat it ten times. It takes 10 positive thoughts to cancel out one negative thought. Every thing can be put into a positive; for example, you are stuck in rush hour traffic and you want to get home to see your family. This is an easy situation to get negative about but instead make it a positive by saying this is awesome, I now have time to clear my head from work so when I get home I can give my family my full attention. Now when you get home you are in a great mood and ready to play with the kids instead of being grumpy.Follow through on what you just read and you will be surprised at how much better life and business will be. This will be a tough road but is any thing worth achieving easy!Copyright
Set Positive Goals And Strive To Achieve Them – Goal-Setting
Set Positive Goals And Strive To Achieve Them
On 31st January 2005, two students from my martial arts school took tests to gain important qualifications in the modern martial art of Choikwangdo.Choikwangdo is a martial art which concentrates on self-defence, health and success in general. It was founded in 1987 by Grandmaster Kwang Jo Choi who lives in Atlanta, Georgia.Mick was testing for blackbelt and Nicky was testing for second degree blackbelt. Both had been training for years to reach these goals. They had passed one smaller grading after another until they were near the top of the ladder ready to take a big step to a new level. They had a deadline every one or two months to aim at when the next minor grading would take place. The reward of passing the grading and the fear of failing it also pushed them on.The standard martial arts escalator of reaching one belt after another is a powerful and systematic motivator. Both Mick and Nicky were role models to everyone in the way they achieved their goals. After Christmas they stepped up their training to the point where they were oblivious of all else except what they needed to know for the big test. They attended all the available lessons and spent most of those single-mindedly focusing on their test syllabus. One of the top instructors, John, spent hours teaching and helping them both.Mick and Nicky both showed a quiet but unstoppable determination in the actual test.At one point Mick hit one of the focus mitts or pads which are used as a target with the weaker part of his hand and dislocated his little finger. It was sticking out at an angle which made most people gasp in horror. Mick was concentrating so much on achieving his black belt that he did not hesitate for a moment. He rushed over to me, held out his hand and said'Go for it'.I was as stunned as anyone else by the dislocation but under the influence of his confidence that I could put things right, grabbed his hand and yanked his little finger away from the rest of his hand for about a quarter of an inch (in the direction it was now pointing) and then relaxed my grip.Mercifully, his finger popped back into place and he continued with his grading without batting an eyelid. Two of the other blackbelts thoughtfully bandaged his injured finger to another finger so that he would be less likely to damage it again. Both Mick and Nicky were exhausted by the end of the grading but their determination and desire to achieve their goals carried them through.Their friends in the class gave them continuous encouragement as well and a standing ovation when they achieved their first and second degree blackbelts. The first line of the pledge in Choikwangdo is:"To set positive goals and strive to achieve them."Both Mick and Nicky achieved their goals by first having a keen desire to reach the prestigious award of a blackbelt and, in Nicky's case, a second degree blackbelt. They then reached these awards through:? A clear vision of what they wanted? Belief that they could achieve their goals? Monthly and two monthly deadlines in which to achieve the next step on the ladder? Regular training and grading which built up their momentum and confidence step by step? Long hours of consistent preparation with others and on their own? A lazer like focus on what they needed to know and do.? A ferocious determination to keep going whatever happened.? The encouragement and support of their friends and instructorsThe attitudes and attributes shown by Nicky and Mick can be seen in martial arts classes all over the world. They can of course be applied to achieving any goal in life and the first line of the Choikwangdo pledge (mentioned above) provides a great mission statement for anyone, whether they are a martial artist or not."To set positive goals and strive to achieve them"Resource box:John Watson is an award winning teacher and martial arts instructor. Think Positive: Using Affirmations to Create Health, Wealth and Beauty – Positive-Attitude
Think Positive: Using Affirmations to Create Health, Wealth and Beauty
You've heard the buzzwords: Attitude is everything! Change your perspective! Have a positive outlook! But, can these words really change our future? And if so, how?In my childhood and adolescence, I was skeptical. If my brother was born without being able to walk ? how could my attitude or outlook change anything? As I got older I continued to reflect on a youth seemingly filled with disappointments and doubts. And in talking to my friends and family, I realized I wasn't alone; we've all experienced them. Then, I started taking a good, long look at myself and my feelings:I realized that my deepest feelings were the ones guiding me forward; challenging me to reach to the depth of what I was able to feel ? happy or sad ? and allowed me to explore the dimensions of my being. So, why do I share this with you? Through all the laughs, disappointment and sorrow I've learned: We can use the power of our feelings to build a stronger, happier, positive life. I've also discovered a secret way to facilitate this process: Affirmations. How Affirmations WorkHow do affirmations work? They are a simple exercise that can tap you in to this positive, creative part of yourself. This place is free from your ego (the part of all of us that is a leaky tire in constant need of being filled up from outside sources).Affirmations are different. They allow you to tap into the secret, powerful, depths of yourself and care for your being by affirming what is there.Do you feel a calling toward a particular feeling you have been having? Is there something in your life that you need and desire to manifest? If you can use you mind's eye to creatively visualize you can bring forward all that you desire. How? Simply by "affirming" that it is already here.Creating AffirmationsThe key to the success of an affirmation is its potential or the potentiality of your creative thought. The laws of the universe will respond then not to your "asking" for what you wish ? for it does not respond to begging or supplication. The universe responds to affirming statements:I AM BEAUTIFUL!I AM HEALTHY!I AM KIND AND LOVING!Thus, it takes the ideas of creative visualization one step further. It takes a picture from inside your head, a "thought" and creates a statement about this thought in a "word" or verbal format.Take some time to affirm what is in your heart. What do you wish for? Choose an affirming statement to focus on and place your attention on it:I AM ABUNDANT!I AM LOVED!Applying An AffirmationSo how to make the laws of affirmation work in your life? Let's focus for a moment on the "word" aspect of this "thought, word and action" process. The words "I am" are a very powerful tool. These words, once again, exceed the ego. "I AM" tells the universe to put the wheels of energy in motion. It tells the universe you are ready to receive your prayer.Already you can see the importance of this process. I AM Beautiful! If I write this on an index card and place it in my pocket, write it several times in my notebook, say it out loud to myself: What happens? I manifest beauty! I feel beautiful.Waiting The Results In PeaceOnce you have affirmed and written you intentions and spoken them, the "action" needs to come from you. Think: If I already had the thing I wished for, what would I do?For example: if I am beautiful ? I need to ask myself: Am I wearing beautiful clothing? Is my make-up on? Am I honoring my body with exercise and nutrition? And if not: I need to take a long look at how I am treating myself ? If I wasn't feeling beautiful before, perhaps treating myself better is what I need to heal.Take a moment today to focus on what you need to heal. Then apply the Thought ? Word ? Action process. I think you will find it to be a powerful tool. For more information on the beauty of affirmations please check out Louise Hay's Power Thought Cards: www.hayhouse.comAlso highly recommended is Dr. Wayne W. Dyers book "There's a Spiritual Solution To Every Problem." A great read.Remember: Affirm, take action and "wait the results in peace." Continue to remain open to receive and I think you will find that that your blessings will far exceed your expectations.About The AuthorLaura M.
