How to Get Your Book Reviewed – Book-Marketing

How to Get Your Book Reviewed

Imagine your book at the top of the Best Sellers List of the New York Times. Most authors do. The question is, "How do I get it there and sell millions of copies?"When planing your book, there is one critical thing that most authors forget - marketing. In the case of book reviewers this means pre-marketing.Most reviewers require a copy of your book at least three months before publication. This is because most book reviewers need time to read it and review it plus publish all the reviews on books that they have reviewed for those who came before you. Also many publications come out on a weekly or monthly basis instead of daily. This means that book reviewers have a huge backlog. So the best way to get a book reviewers to review your book, is to get them a quality copy of your manuscript or a galley, as soon as possible. What if your book has already been published? Is it too late to get a book reviewer to review your book? In some cases yes and in some no. There is an easy way to get your book reviewed without calling it a review.Send out a press release.Create a press release about your book and submit it to your local newspapers, magazines and radio stations. Make it interesting. Don't just say Mary Joe Piper has just published her newest book Babes on Parade. Think about your story and what it can teach people. Does it have a theme about love or friendship or settling disputes?Use the issue in your press release. Teach people how to solve their problems and then have the person interviewing you mention your credits, as a published author. At that point your book will be mentioned, you will have done them a service, and you will have saved thousands of dollars on marketing and query letters to editors. Here are just a few sites that you can go to to submit your pre - publication book:Book Reviewers:Terrie Bittner

Get Your Writing Reviewed by Major Publications for Free

Get Your Writing Reviewed by Major Publications for Free

All Writers need the press, especially new writers. As a new novelist, I know I need name recognition. The best way for me to get the public to learn about my novel, The League, I figured, was to get some reviews in major magazines and newspapers. Now, being unknown, this might seem like a tall task. It really isn't. In fact, I was shocked by how simple it really is.In looking for media coverage for the May 2005 release of my novel, I first decided to approach magazines that focus on the area that is most closely related to the plot of my novel. So, I started with fantasy football magazines and websites, since my novel, The League, is about a group of wealthy men who play fantasy football for $30 million prize. My approach was simple but effective. I e-mailed the editor or publisher of as many magazines and web sites as I could find that focus on professional football and fantasy football. I sent them the synopsis of my book, and I told them that my book has major appeal, because it is the only work of fiction of its kind. Then, I asked them for a review in their magazine or just a quote that I could put on the dust cover of my novel, with a tagline that would also promote their magazine or web site.I found this method of self-promotion to be a lot like sales. I got about a five percent return -- that is five percent of the people I contacted actually gave me a review or a quote. All, just because I asked. So, when you write your article, short story or novel, don't hesitate to ask people to review your work. You'll be shocked at the results.Mark Barnes is the author of the new novel, The League, the first work of fiction, based on fantasy football. He is also an investment real estate and home loan finance expert. Learn more about his suspense thriller at http://www.sportsnovels.com. John Ascuaga?s Nugget Casino Reviewed by Thehooks

The Club Cal Neva sports book is located on the bottom floor of the Nugget Casino. Down stairs there is a nice bar, bingo parlor, horse bet racing section, a deli, and many big screens to watch the games. When staying at the Nugget this is an easy walk back and forth to the Silver Club. This is the sports book if you are looking for all the betting options and want a clean atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and you never have to ask for a drink toke. The lines can get long right before a game so get your bets down early or get ready to walk over to the Silver Club. The Club Cal Neva sportsbook has the best odds on the parlay cards and carries money lines on most games. You can also expect to see a first half and a second half line for all the games. The action is endless through out the Nugget. They have every table game and over 1,000 machines for your enjoyment. The restaurants are very good in the Casino and the rooms are very clean. The only down side to staying at the Nugget is if you are a bargain shopper you will not get any deals on the rooms here. The Nugget does not believe in lowering the room rates, a small price to pay for such a great hidden gem in Northern Nevada. The Nugget and the Silver club anchor downtown Sparks. Sparks has done a great job of remodeling downtown and offers many great events through out the year. Most of the events play out on Victorian Avenue between the Silver Club and John Ascuaga's Nugget Casino. There is a great water fountain right outside the Movie Theatre, which sits 200 yards to the sides of the two casinos.Leo Mendelsohn
