How to Hit the Target for Your Internet Marketing Through 5 Self Help Questions – Internet-Marketing
How to Hit the Target for Your Internet Marketing Through 5 Self Help Questions
Recently, I stumbled upon a simple way to hit the target on my Internet marketing strategy for driving potential web traffic to my site. For me, this was an incredible "Ah Ha," because I am not a "techie" and my sales strengths are building relationships and understanding numbers. The Internet by its very nature provides an immediate obstacle to building relationships, but offers opportunities to gather and analyze numbers. And this is where many small businesses and even some larger businesses fail to capitalize upon this potential business strategy in their Internet marketing efforts.Every day I receive at least one if not several articles about article submission as a marketing strategy to increase web site traffic. And yet, not one of these articles discusses if these articles are meeting the needs of potential readers. One senses that if you write enough articles or white papers (quantity), you will increase your business (quality). This reminds me of the old saying "Build It and They Will Come."So how do you truly know what articles are being read when you use a paid article distribution service and more specifically what topics are generating the greatest interest? Even though my practice focuses on education and training through organizational and leadership development, I recently authored an article "How to Gain Web Traffic Through 9 Simple Tips." This article was my sharing of my recent experiences through the advice of two marketing experts (www.hodgecomunications and www.leaders-perspective) as I actively worked one goal within my strategic plan to increase traffic to my web site. This article was first posted on 08/27/05 at www.ezinearticles.com and then submitted to a paid article distribution service www.articlemarketer.com. I was quite surprised when reading the "time viewed" through my free membership and monitoring page at Ezine Articles. Using my most frequently viewed article "Work Ethics - A Paradigm Shift" posted on 04/20/05, I then checked the average daily views through an excel spreadsheet that I had created for all submitted articles. What I discovered to my amazement was that the web traffic article was receiving almost 15 views a day while the other article received around 3 views a day. To ensure that this wasn't an anomaly, I reviewed other daily view rates and learned that no other article was even close.Wow! With 38 articles in the distribution highway, one article was out performing the other 37 by almost five to one. Remember the Parento Principle: 20% of your efforts account for 80% of your results. For someone who continually advocates if you can't measure it, you can't manage it, I then realized that this adage also applies to writing articles as well as to watching the statistics from my web site. Since this article was distributed, my daily web visits have increased 50% in just 6 days.Is this article solely responsible for this increase? Absolutely, not. However, given the measurable increase in traffic, the number side of my brain began to click in. I began to wonder if I concentrated my activity during the next month on articles focusing on Internet marketing and web traffic would I continue to secure a daily view rate of 15 or greater for those submissions? During the next 30 days, I hope to have a measurable answer to that question and please feel free to contact me if you wish to know the answer as well.If you also want to hit the target on your Internet marketing activities or as some might say, work smarter not harder, can you answer these 5 simple questions:(1) What are your average daily view rates for your articles?(2) Are your articles within a specific topic area or a variety of topics?(3) Have you avoided topics that fail to demonstrate your expertise?(4) What is your strategy for tracking your article submissions against your daily web traffic?(5) Do you know for your efforts which specific topic generates the most daily views? With the Internet being a major source of information, writing articles is a definite strategy to drive traffic to your web site. However, given the amount of time it takes to write a quality article, it does appear to make sense to leverage that time to secure the greatest results possible.Copyright 2005(c) Leanne Hoagland-Smith, www.processspecialist.comThis article may be freely published. Aikido Philosophy: An Oriental Concept of Energy, Self, and Mind – Martial-Arts
Aikido Philosophy: An Oriental Concept of Energy, Self, and Mind
PrefaceThere are many different ways to understand Aikido philosophy and perceive, utilize, and benefit from energy. What I offer here is one of many ways. Indeed when I do other kinds of activities I perceive of and work with energy in quite a different manner. What follows is my experience of energy while performing Aikido over the course of more than twenty years. Certainly there are likely to be many other Aikido practitioners that would explain their experiences and beliefs in a manner that is somewhat different than mine. I offer you here, one experience, my experience, and thus all that I say is part of my belief system, and not at all necessarily THE truth.AikidoAikido is a Japanese martial art, and it does not have an attack form. We do not kick, punch, or in any other manner, attempt to hurt our opponent. The meaning of Aikido:"Ai" To gather or harmonize."Ki" Universal life force/energy.
This is the energy that we share with nature and all living beings."Do" An artful path of discovery."Aikido" An artful path of discovering how to gather and harmonize the energy of the universe. When we sense and move with the energy that is manifesting throughout the universe we find that we have a greater ability to live a life that is healthy and fulfilling."Ki"In Aikido we believe that all human beings utilize and share a common energy source (ki) that helps to run and maintain our environment as well as our individual human systems. We believe that since we all share a common energy source, that in some important way we are all truly members of the same family, and truly sharing our lives with all of nature. We do not have an attack form in Aikido, because attacking an opponent would be like attacking a family member that you love. Attacking an opponent would also be like attempting to damage the flow of Universal energy in the world, and such acts are likely to have many far reaching consequences. In the Japanese language words that use the concept of "ki" are common.
"Gen-ki" means "root energy" or one's "personal health."
"Ten-ki" relates to "heavenly energy" or "the weather."
"Hon-ki" relates to "original energy" or "the truth."
"Yuu-ki" relates to "brave energy" or "courage."
"Ki o tsukete" means "attach your energy to what you are doing, or "be careful."The origin of ki?Where does ki originate from? In Aikido the answer is poetic in nature rather than scientific. It is suggested that ki was "born" at the same instant as the rest of the universe, and that we are all born from the ki of the universe. Ki is considered to be an energy that we all have equal access to. It is an energy that courses through our system if we do not restrict it. In Aikido we believe that excess tension physically and emotionally, fear, hate, greed, and anger, all cut us off from the universal source of ki. Our daily practice involves working at maintaining a balanced state physically and emotionally, and indeed, practicing ways to cultivate physical and emotional balance is much of what the study of Aikido is about. In Aikido physical and emotional balance are meant to be two sides of the very same coin. Physical balance helps to engender emotional balance and health, and vice versa as well. Often in my professional work with individuals I find myself first addressing the clients physical balance when they come wanting to resolve emotional issues, and I do the reverse as well. I often first address or explore how emotional imbalance might lead to the physical difficulties they are experiencing."Ki signature" mind, spirit-Energy manifests as spirit, spirit manifests as mindEnergy manifests within each individual as spirit, spirit manifests in each individual as mind. In some way that is a mystery to all of mankind, the freely available energy of the universe is transformed by each person into one's own unique "ki signature", spirit, mind. No two people have the same exact "ki signature", just as no two people have the same exact written signature. No two people have the same exact spirit, no two people have the same exact mind. The unique way that we each take in, utilize, and expend energy, can be considered to be our "ki signature", mind, or spirit. Each person starts with the same source of energy, and manifests this energy in a way that will never exactly be duplicated by any other human being.Thought, body structure, and movement, shape the flow of ki, into spirit/mindThink of the freely flowing water of a powerful river that comes upon a series of fairly large rocks spread out across the river bed and extend up beyond the water's surface. These rocks affect the flow of the river but they do not change the nature of the water itself. Ki flows through the river bed of our brain and body. Our thoughts, body structure and movements, are like the rocks in the river bed. These are the main elements that shape ki into individual mind, or spirit The flow of ki is uniquely transformed by each human being, but the nature of the ki itself, is not altered in the process. Just as the pattern of rocks spread out along the river bed is never exactly duplicated in any other place on earth, the pattern of our thoughts, body structure, and movement is also never exactly duplicated. All mind is similar, but no two minds are exactly alike.A heartfelt understanding of the nature of our spirit will help us to create a healthy alignment of our thoughts, body structure, movements, and actions. When every aspect of our self is fully aligned we have a much greater ability to think, feel, and act in accordance with what is best for us in any given moment. We are better able to adapt and change in a manner that is supports the well being of our entire self and our surroundings. The misnomers of "mind-body" and "mind and body"A definition of "mind" that I often use it in my work, is the following:
"Mind is a dynamic, self-organizing, creative system, capable of overcoming physical and temporal constraints. Mind uses and manufactures energy in order to support the self and one's surroundings, trade information, and adapt to change."When considering this definition of mind, we can say that mind manifests equally in the body and in the brain in the skull. Because of this I believe that the terms "mind-body" or "mind and body" as used in the Western world, are somewhat missing the mark and tend to lead to a certain degree of misunderstanding. If you ask a Japanese person to point to their mind, usually they will point to the area of their heart, or they will point to their lower abdomen. If you ask the average Westerner to point to their mind they will point to their head. This is why I think the terms "mind-body" and "mind and body" were developed in the Western world. I believe that the average Western person thinks of the term "mind" in relation to "thinking" or "thought". Oriental philosophy considers "mind" to be immanent in both the body and the brain. In Aikido we say that we practice in order to calm the mind, by coordinating our thoughts, the actions of our body, and our breath. Or we say that we practice in order to further empower and actualize our mind by coordinating our thoughts, physical actions, breath, and spirit. When looking to calm our mind we give our primary attention to calming our breath and our heart beat, which will tend to lead towards a relaxing of our musculature and a slowing down or cessation of our internal dialogue. If we calm our body we will tend to calm our cognitive thought processes. Calming the mind can also be accomplished by giving primary attention to the speed, rhythm, and tone of voice of our internal dialogue. If we calm our cognitive thought processes we will tend to calm the body. When we calm both our cognitive thought processes and our body, then we calm our mind. Cognitive mind and somatic mind are part of a recursive feedback loop. You can't affect one without affecting the other.Charlie Badenhop is the originator of Seishindo, an Aikido instructor,

Visualization For Self Healing
Visualization For Self Healing
Visualization and guided imagery are two of the most
powerful healing powers of your mind. All you need
to do is use your imagination for some astonishing
results. Please note, it is never advisable to rely only on
this method for curing your ailments. Continue with
your doctor's treatments until he/she tells you that
they are no longer needed. Visualization can greatly
speed up your recovery and shorten your recovery
period. With visualization you heal yourself by creating strong
pictures in your mind of what you want the outcome
to be. Then you believe or pretend that those pictures
are the absolute truth. This process can be used for anything, such as increasing
your income or receiving desired material possessions, but
for this article I will use healing as an example. You can
adjust your visualizations for other things using these
guidelines.Take at least 20 minutes a day (two to three times a day
for any serious illnesses) and sit or lay down. Close your
eyes and get yourself into a relaxed state by taking three
deep breaths. Feel that all thoughts and tensions are being
released from your body. Visualize clear, pure energy
entering the top of your head and slowly moving down
through your whole body. With each inhale, feel and see the pure healing energy
get brighter. With each exhale see all sickness and
disease being expelled from your body as air or smoke
and disappearing off into the universe. Continue for
several more minutes or as long as you want. If you
have a certain area of your body that is diseased, you
can put your focus there and see the illness turning to
smoke and disappearing.Another type of visualization that works well with
healing is to imagine something taking the disease away.
For example, if it's cancer that you want to get rid off,
imagine birds flying into your body at the site of the
cancer and pecking away at it until it is completely gone.
Or laser beams shooting into your body and burning the
cancer up. Another good visualization is to imagine a
waterfalls above your head. The water is entering your
head and washing all the disease away out through your
toes. Use your imagination and come up with ideas
that feel right for you.Now you will use your imagination to see the end result.
Picture yourself as completely healed. Feel how strong
you are. See yourself doing all the things you love to do
as you are now once again in perfect health. Hear the
sounds around you, smell the air and fragrances, taste
the delicious foods that you are enjoying. Use all your
senses to perceive a healthy you enjoying your life to
the fullest. You can also use this method to manifest better
relationships, better jobs, money, anything at all. The
key is to visualize in great detail what your want until
you feel in your mind that you already possess it. Do
this everyday and do not concern yourself at all about
how or when your goal will come. Just be certain that
the energy of the universe will begin moving to bring it
to you. This has been proven by modern physics and is called
the "observer effect". Your attention and intention to
something causes it to come into your life. There were those through the ages that already knew
of this wonderful power long before modern physics.
For example:Charles F. Hannel - "The Master Key System"
"The secret of all power, all achievement and all
possession depends upon our method of thinking.
All power is from within, and is absolutely under your
control; it comes through exact knowledge and by the
voluntary exercises of exact principles."Jesus Christ"Therefore I say unto you, What things soever you desire,
when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you
shall have them."Goeth"If we can conceive it, and we can believe it, then we
can achieve it."Deepak Chopra
"Within every desire is the mechanics of its fulfillment."James Allen"The aphorism, "As a man thinketh in his heart so is he,"
not only embraces the whole of a man's being, but is so
comprehensive as to reach out to every condition and
circumstance of his life."I have heard some amazing stories of people who helped
to heal themselves using these methods. Even their doctors
were astonished. It has been well documented that those
who use visualization, prayer and positive attitudes recover
much more quickly than those who don't. So it sure doesn't
hurt to give these methods a try. It could save your life.To your success.Copyright 2005Written by Susan Norrad, editor and publisher of
